Reader Voice — Terms of use

These terms apply to the use of the Reader Voice app, developed and maintained by FERMATools. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What the app does
Reader Voice reads aloud the EPUB and PDF books and documents you choose and, when the text is in another language, translates it automatically on the device. The app is free and has no ads. It may change, gain or lose features, or stop being offered at any time.
2. Your files and copyright
Reader Voice does not provide books: it only reads the files you open. You alone are responsible for having the right to use those files (for example, because you bought them, they are in the public domain, or you have the rights holder's permission). Do not use the app to copy, distribute or publish protected content without permission, nor the audio or text produced from it.
3. Automatic translation and speech
Translation and reading aloud are automatic and may contain errors, omissions, changes of meaning or mispronunciations. The original text prevails over the translation. Do not rely on the app as your only source where an error could cause harm, such as in medical, legal, financial or safety matters.
4. Third-party services
The app uses third-party features with their own terms and policies: Google's translator and language identifier (ML Kit), the text-to-speech engine installed on the device, Google Play, and the Aptabase anonymous statistics service. FERMATools does not control these services and is not responsible for their availability or operation.
5. Your data and backups
Your books, progress, bookmarks and tags are stored only on your device and may be lost, for example when you uninstall the app or change devices. Use the backup feature to keep a copy. See also the privacy policy.
6. Permitted use
You may use the app for personal purposes. You may not use it for illegal purposes, to infringe the rights of others, or try to compromise its operation or security.
7. Warranties and liability
The app is provided free of charge, "as is", with no warranty that it will work without errors, without interruption or on every device. To the extent permitted by applicable law, FERMATools is not liable for indirect damages or damages arising from improper use of the app, translation or reading errors, data loss, use of files without permission, or failures of third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law grants you and that cannot be waived, such as consumer protection rights.
8. Changes
These terms may be updated. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
